Coppins Crossing

As I passed Coppins Crossing many times in the summer, I was struck by the intense and beautiful sunsets over the Brindabella Mountains. Finally, I committed to spending time at the top of the hill near Coppins Crossing in the late afternoon, waiting for the sun to set over the mountains. I wasn't disappointed. This is what I saw. Colours changing rapidly and clouds offering mysterious shapes and suggestive patterns. I took a shot with the sun about to set and a jet stream overhead. I didnt notice until after the shot that four birds photo-bombed the shot in just the perfect position against the sun. In another scene is a crimson Pterodactyl flying overhead. But the real capture for me is the calm evening and warm light over the rolling foothills of the Brindabellas.
