Canberra Autumn and Spring
Canberra in Autumn is beautiful! When Canberra was planned, there was a desire to present a European environment reflected in the trees and manicured landscapes, placed against and in contrast to the native Australian landscapes. As Autumn sets in, the fog rolls in and over Lake Berley Griffin, subduing the bright Autumn colours of the European trees. After the fog has lifted, the bright Autumn colours are revealed. This collection is a small sample of the early morning scenes you can find as you walk around the lake. Autumn is also a good time for Hot Air Ballooning because the air is cool and provides greater lift for the ballons as they take off. An additional image of Canberra in Spring is also included, showing the white flowers on the trees in contrast to the Red leaves of Autumn.
